Billie Eilish regrets being too open-hearted in interviews

If Billie Eilish could go back in time, she would keep some details about her personal life to herself.

“I wish no one knew about my sexuality or my dating life. Always, always, always,” said the Grammy winner in a recent interview fashion Cover story. “And I hope they never do it again. And I’ll never talk about my sexuality again. And I’m never talking about who I’m dating again.”

The 22-year-old explained that she tends to “underestimate the fact that the things I say are going to be blown up into the biggest news stories in the whole world” and that she will eventually come back to haunt them later.

“This is so unnatural,” she explained. “We all are babies. We are all little children growing up and learning on our own.”

Eilish has been open about several aspects of her personal life in recent years, including her sexuality, her appreciation for masturbation, and her relationship with her ex Jesse Rutherford. The couple, who dated from October 2022 to May 2023, faced backlash throughout their romance due to their ten-year age difference – so much so that they even dressed up as a baby and an old man for Halloween this year.

Last November, Eilish also made headlines when she described her attraction to women in an interview diversity Interview. A few weeks later, in a separate conversation with the outlet, she confirmed that she had come out publicly during the interview, but didn’t even know it was necessary. “I kind of thought, ‘Wasn’t that obvious?'” she said at the time. “I didn’t know that people didn’t know.”

The “Birds of a Feather” singer also garnered attention for declaring that she “should have a doctorate.” during masturbation” in a Rolling Stone interview last April, in which she noted that self-pleasure was “a huge, huge help” to her as someone “with extreme body issues and dysmorphia that I’ve had my whole life.”

She added: “My experience as a woman is that (sex) is seen in such strange ways. People are so uncomfortable talking about it and feel weird about women being very comfortable with their sexuality and being communicative about it. I think that’s how it is.” It’s such a frowned upon thing to talk about and I think that should change.

She has also spoken out against pornography, which she called a “disgrace” during an interview with Howard Stern in 2021. “I used to watch a lot of porn, to be honest,” Eilish said. “I started watching porn when I felt like it, 11.”

She added: “I think it really destroyed my brain and I feel incredibly devastated that I was exposed to so much porn.”
