Bill Clinton campaigns for Vice President Harris in Michigan

Former President Bill Clinton showed his support for Vice President Kamala Harris by making three campaign stops in Michigan on Wednesday.

Clinton began his day in Muskegon Heights, then traveled to South Haven and ended his campaign day in Benton Harbor.

His message to attendees was simple and clear: elect Kamala Harris as president.

“Look, it would be light years better than him, unless you think the only thing that matters is demonizing the other side,” Clinton said.

The 42nd President of the United States gave a speech at a home in a residential neighborhood in South Haven, kicking off advertising campaigns across the city.

“I think any time you can convince a person or get them to vote, it makes a big difference,” said Terry Mcgarr, a canvasser.

Clinton said he supported all of Harris’ policy ideas.

“Your economic plan is better, much better,” Clinton said. “Trump hopes to get lucky twice, cost of living has risen too much, but fuel prices are falling because of Harris policies.”

The former president praised the vice president’s plan to create three million more housing units and make housing easier by having the government pay down payments to homebuyers.

“I’ve never thought of that, and I was attorney general, and there was a price measurement law, and it’s a president’s job to solve problems,” Clinton said. “She’s a problem solver, he’s a problem maker.”

At all three campaign events, the former president urged people to get out and vote early.

Early voting for Michiganders began Saturday.
