Best chance of rain in a month

Omaha’s best chance of rain in a month comes later today! Before it rains here, it will be a bit breezy with a mix of sun and clouds and high temperatures in the 80s.

Scattered rain and storms will move into areas well west of Omaha as early as 1 p.m. and then expand eastward throughout the day. Some storms could bring hail and strong winds, but widespread severe weather is not expected. In Omaha, it could rain as early as the evening on the way to work, but in western Iowa, there’s a much higher chance of it staying dry on the drive home. Everyone could see some of the scattered rain by 8 this evening. Occasional rain will continue overnight but all appear to be dry by Tuesday morning. More than half of the region is expected to see rain at some point, but totals could vary widely… from a brief, light shower to a few heavy rainbows in some spots.

Tuesday will start in the mid 50s then warm to near 80 in the afternoon and skies will be mostly sunny.

A cold front will push us into the upper 60s on Wednesday, but we will remain dry and there will be plenty of sunshine.

Before you know it, Thursday will be windy and warmer. A few scattered showers cannot be ruled out, but at the moment it looks like most of us will stay dry. Highs will be in the mid-70s with a mix of sun and clouds.

Another cold front will drop us back into the upper 60s on Friday with lots of sunshine.

It will be even cooler on Saturday with temperatures around 60° and mostly sunny skies.

Sunday will be a little warmer, closer to 70 degrees, with lots of sunshine.
