‘Tis the time of year when celebrities unveil their impressive Halloween costumes and showcase their efforts this year on social media and at high-profile events across the country.

From Selena Gomez as Alice in Wonderland to M. Night Shyamalan as Heath Ledger’s Joker The Dark Knight, Newsweek has compiled some of the best outfits from 2024.

M. Night Shyamalan

On October 26, the filmmaker and actor hosted a Halloween party called “Shyamaween” in Philadelphia to benefit the M. Night Shyamalan Foundation. The foundation “supports the grassroots efforts of emerging leaders in eliminating the barriers created by poverty and social injustice in their communities.”

He dressed up as Heath Ledger’s Joker, wearing a nurse costume, a green wig and the necessary makeup.

David Dobrik

YouTuber David Dobrik attended the same event and dressed as a sailor. He was photographed wearing a sailor hat and a shirt with a sailor collar.

Vanderpump Rules Star Tom Sandoval and girlfriend Victoria Lee Robinson dressed up as Ghostface and Casey Becker, played by Drew Barrymore in the 1996 horror film Scream.

The couple attended the Pizza Slime x Casamigos Halloween party on October 26 in Beverly Hills, California.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco

Gomez showed off her shared costume with boyfriend Benny Blanco on her Instagram account. The couple dressed up as characters from the 2010 film Alice in Wonderlandwith Gomez as Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska and Blanco as the Mad Hatter, played by Johnny Depp in the remake.

The singer wore a powder blue dress and blonde wig, while the record producer wore white face paint, a curly red wig and a top hat.

“Curious and curious,” Gomez captioned her carousel post on Instagram, which is a famous quote from the original book.

Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott

Deschanel also shared her costume on Instagram and uploaded photos of herself in costume The Real Housewives of Salt Lake CityAngie Katsanevas wears the reality star’s outfit from when she was churning butter in Season 4.

Her fiancé Jonathan Scott posed next to her property brotherswho was dressed as Wolverine.

“If you know who I am, we can be friends,” she wrote.

“OMG!!! Little Bo Greek is shaking in her hood right now. Zooey, I’m honored!!! was in the Greek mafia.

Nicola Peltz Beckham

Beckham, married to David and Victoria Beckham’s son Brooklyn Beckham, transformed into a Playboy bunny for Halloween.

For the occasion, she wore a black satin bodysuit, black bunny ears, gloves and a choker.

Lucy Hale

Actress Lucy Hale, known for the TV series pretty Little LiarsShe wore a lamb chop costume along with her two dogs. The sock puppet was originally brought to life by ventriloquist and puppeteer Shari Lewis for the children’s television series Captain Kangaroo in March 1956.

“In honor of our muse, Lady Lambchop,” she captioned her Instagram post.

Sophie Turner

game of Thrones Star Sophie Turner donned latex to recreate Carrie-Anne Moss’ character Trinity from the 1999 sci-fi hit matrix.

As seen in a carousel post on Instagram, the black PVC playsuit was accessorized with a belt, matching gloves and sunglasses.

“Red or blue pill,” she wrote.

English singer, songwriter, actress and former ballet dancer Pixie Lott attended Annabel’s Halloween 2024: Ghosts of Versailles party on October 25. Annabel’s is a private club in London that hosts an event every year around the holidays.

For the occasion, she transformed into an Aperol spritz, wearing an orange slice on her head and sitting in a human-sized glass and spritz.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton never holds back when it comes to dressing up in costume, and this year was no different.

She dressed up as Uma Thurman’s character Mia Wallace from Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 film pulp Fiction. The socialite shared photos of herself on Instagram wearing a black wig, smoking a cigarette and holding a blinded gun.

“In service of the reality of Mia Wallace #ThatsHot #PulpFiction,” she captioned her post.

Christina Aguilera

Aguilera impressed her followers when she uploaded a series of photos in which she was seen dressed as Dracula.

The “Dirrty” hitmaker also showed off her look on Instagram, wearing a stunning wig, long nails and a tight corset. In some photos, she has fake blood dripping down her face and is wearing white eye contact lenses, which give her a particularly creepy appearance.

She teased that more Halloween content was on the way, writing in the caption: “To be continued…”

Tallulah Willis

Tallulah Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, dressed as a shrimp from Moore’s new film, The substance. In the film, Elisabeth Sparkle (played by Moore) is known for her aerobics show, but is fired by her boss Harvey (Dennis Quaid) when she turns 50.

At the beginning of the film there is a scene where Elisabeth and Harvey are having lunch. While Elisabeth doesn’t eat, Harvey stuffs himself with shrimp in a scene that many consider disgusting.

“I was the shrimp from that disgusting @dennisquaid scene in @trythesubstance. DW (don’t worry) it was niche,” Willis wrote on Instagram.

Tyla

To express her admiration for Halle Berry, South African singer Tyla dressed up as actor Sharon Stone’s character Flint Film.

“Well I was a very bad girl, but you have to admit… I was very, very good at it,” she wrote, tagging the Hollywood star.

Berry gave her seal of approval when she commented on the post: “Too good.”

Halle Bailey

Tyla wasn’t the only celebrity to honor Berry with a Halloween costume this year. So does the singer and actress Halle Bailey. She was based on Berry’s character Jinx from the 2002 James Bond film Die another day.

There is a scene in the film where Jinx emerges from the sea in an orange bikini with a white belt and a knife on her side. This is the outfit Bailey copied.

Halle Berry

Now it’s Berry’s turn. This year she decided to celebrate Halloween and International Black Cat Day as a witch, with her real cat Coco by her side. She wore a purple velvet witch hat and a matching dress that had stars and moons engraved into the fabric.

Chloe Bailey

Bailey’s sister, singer and actress Chloe Bailey, also shared her Halloween costume online. This year she dressed up as Jessica Rabbit from the 1988 film Who framed Roger Rabbit?.

For the costume, she wore a red sequin dress, purple satin gloves and a red wig.

Megan Thee Stallion

For Halloween this year, Megan Thee Stallion transformed into Starfire, a superhero created as part of the Halloween party Teen Titans Comic books.

In a photo shoot she posted online, the rapper can be seen in a costume and a fiery red wig. She also does several action hero poses in different backgrounds. It even caught the attention of DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn.

“Whoa. Cool,” he wrote in the Instagram threads, resharing the photos posted by Megan Thee Stallion.

G Eazy

Rapper G-Eazy, born Gerald Earl Gillum, dresses up as Harry Potter for Halloween. In the photos uploaded online, he had a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead, was wearing the appropriate Hogwarts uniform and was holding a wand.

“Gerry Potter,” he captioned his carousel post, a play on his name.

Ashley Graham

Due to the popularity of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice this year a sequel to 1988 BeetlejuiceModel Ashley Graham transformed into Lydia Deetz in the first film in the series.

She shared pictures of herself wearing a black wig, a sparkly red dress and vampire makeup.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice BEETLEJUICE!!! Thank you @airbnb for this spooky night at the Beetlejuice Icon House celebrating my birthday with my closest friends. I love you @bchesky for making my wildest dreams come true,” she wrote on Instagram.
