Successful dress rehearsal!

Bayern confidently won 3-0 (2-0) in the top game on Saturday afternoon against fourth-placed Union Berlin. It is the German record champions’ third clean sheet game within a week. For the first time in four and a half years (!), Bayern have kept a clean sheet in three consecutive Bundesliga games.

Vincent Kompany’s team is taking the momentum from the recent victories in the cup in Mainz (4:0) and in the league in Bochum (5:0) and is ready for the important duel in the Champions League on Wednesday (9 p.m.). Benfica Lisbon prepared.

The top game will be a big Kane festival!

14th minute: Kimmich passes it on to Olise with his heel. Hollerbach, who played for Munich in his youth, knocks down the Frenchman in the penalty area. Clear penalty!

Kane puts the ball down. Union keeper Rönnow points his right index finger towards the left corner as he wanted to say: Shoot here, Harry. The cheeky action will be punished! Kane shoots exactly into the corner the Dane wanted – but so precisely and hard that Rönnow doesn’t have the slightest chance. It is Kane’s 10th goal of the season. He scored more goals than all Union players combined! And: Kane can take penalties. The Englishman has scored the last 22 penalties (14 of them for Bayern).

Shortly after the break he scored another goal, pushing a header from Coman over the line just in front of Musiala (51′) – 3-0.

Kane after the game on the “Sky” microphone: “It was a good game for us.” It wasn’t easy because Union fought the war well and were stable defensively.”

Before the game, Kompany said on the microphone on “Sky”: “I hope that the boys enjoy the game and that we play offensively again.”

But instead of hurrakiri, there was a lot of ball-pushing in the first half without any dangerous chances to score – until the 43rd minute!

Birthday boy Davies drives the ball forward on his left side and plays Kane free just before the penalty area. The goal getter goes straight through to Coman, who shoots in from a tight angle – 2-0.

The winger returned to the starting line-up somewhat surprisingly for Gnabry – and thanks him with his third goal of the season. The Frenchman is on a roll. He has scored in each of the last three Bundesliga games.

Bayern are brutally effective – and Neuer saves once at the back!

33rd minute: Slapstick on the defensive! Upamecano – back in the starting line-up after recovering from a bruised thigh – heads in from Guerreiro after a cross. The ball bounces off his shin to Jordan, who takes off from the turn. Neuer gets his arms up in time.

In the end, Bayern take it easy. Kompany breaks through and brings on Adam Aznou (80th), who is making his Bundesliga debut.

Union captain Trimmel on the microphone on “Sky” after the game: “We can live with it. Bayern were the favorites and have brutal quality.”

Despite the confident home win, there is discontent among the fans. During the game the club is struggling with a technology crash.
