BangShift.com Halfasse Kustoms 1949 GMC Roadster Pickup Custom: Body work, a little more fab, more body work and primer!

There’s already been so much metal work done and there’s probably more to come, but in the two videos below you’ll see the metal forming pay off as the body work begins and the primer is applied. Yes, Brent is making serious progress on this project right now.

This is a project Brent has had lying around for a while, just waiting to tackle again. It’s no ordinary 1949 GMC, as it’s mounted on a modified Caprice chassis and the roof has been removed. Plans call for it to get a Carson-style removable roof, lots of custom metal work, and more. It’s going to be a completely custom vehicle, but that means it needs A LOT of work. One thing I find funny is that in most cases you want to start a project with the cleanest, most straightforward vehicle you can get, but if you’re building a custom vehicle that’s going to have a lot of custom metal work anyway, why not start with something rough? This truck definitely qualifies for that.

In previous videos, Brent has lowered the hood of this thing, modified the fenders, planed the bumper, shortened the chassis, sanded parts, built a custom bed, and more. There’s a lot going on with this project and a lot planned for this thing, although that statement might make you think there’s a whole list of what’s going to happen to it. But that’s not exactly Brent’s pace. He works as he does something, trying things out to see how they look, and cutting and welding and removing and replacing until it has the look we want. We love it and it’s inspiring.
