Armie Hammer will be forced to sell his truck because he “can’t afford the gas.”

The former actor announced that he would switch to a “tiny” hybrid vehicle instead of the gas guzzler.

“I’m selling my truck,” Armie, 38, said in a video posted to his Instagram account on August 27.

“Since I’ve been back in LA, I’ve put $400 or $500 worth of gas in it, and I can’t afford it anymore. I can’t afford the gas anymore.”

He explained that one of the reasons it was so difficult for him to part with the car was because he and his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers had used it to bring their children Harper (9) and Ford (7) home from the hospital after they were born.

“That truck was taking the kids home from the hospital and all that stuff,” he recalled. “But you know what, that’s OK.”

Armie added that he bought a smaller hybrid car that was more economical to run.

“I have a new car,” he said. “It’s tiny. It’s a hybrid. I’ll probably spend about $10 a month on gas.”

Elizabeth, 42, filed for divorce in July 2020. Over the following year, Armie was publicly accused by several women of emotional abuse, manipulation, rape and cannibalism. He denied the allegations and claimed all encounters were consensual.

Armie has not worked as an actor since completing the 2022 crime thriller Death on the Nile.
