Armed man arrested after standoff in Incline Village

Update Monday, August 26, 4:00 p.m. – One person is now in custody following a brief standoff near the 300 block of Alder Court in Incline Village Monday afternoon.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding an unknown disturbance. The Sheriff’s Office reported that witnesses in the area heard what they believed to be gunshots.

The WCSO update states: “Upon arrival, officers made contact with an armed subject who had barricaded himself inside the home.”



SWAT and hostage negotiation teams were dispatched to the scene.

According to authorities, the suspect surrendered after a brief standoff and was taken into custody.



The sheriff’s office reports no injuries and says there is no ongoing danger to the public.

The investigation is ongoing. WCSO has not released the identity of the shooter.
