Ariana Grande breaks character during Jennifer Coolidge’s ‘SNL’ sketch

The only thing more fun than an accurate Jennifer Coolidge impression is two Accurate impressions of Coolidge, as Ariana Grande and Chloe Fineman discovered on the Oct. 12 episode of Saturday Night Live.

Grande, who hosted the episode to promote her upcoming movie musical “Wicked,” teamed up with cast member Fineman to play two different versions of the “White Lotus” star in a delightfully wacky skit that mimics a Maybelline commercial .

The sketch featured Fineman’s crazy Coolidge talking to herself in the mirror while applying a new Maybelline lip product. On the other side of the mirror, Grande responded, wearing a similarly sized blonde wig and a fluffy pink robe.

The two Coolidges were chatting about an upcoming date — and Maybelline’s new, long-lasting lip color, whose name they can’t seem to get right.

“What are we going to talk about on our date?” Grande’s Coolidge asked.

“I don’t know it. “How does a good conversation begin?” replied Fineman’s Coolidge.

“Lemons,” Grande replied, drawing out the word thoughtfully.

“Hell yeah,” Fineman continued. “What topics should we avoid?”

“Fish,” Grande said after a pause.

“The band or the animal?” asked Fineman.

Confused, Grande’s Coolidge replied, “There’s an animal called a fish?”

As the two’s conversation became increasingly silly, both Grande and Fineman struggled to contain their laughter, with Grande breaking character at one point and giggling.

The sketch later took an even crazier turn thanks to the appearance of a third Coolidge, courtesy of “SNL” alum Dana Carvey, who was present in the episode’s cold opener to play President Joe Biden.

Grande’s impression of Coolidge wasn’t the only one she did for “SNL.”

The singer, known for her celebrity parodies, also did her Celine Dion impression in a skit and recalled vocal impressions of Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Gwen Stefani in her stunning opening monologue.
