WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

A second cold front will bring scattered snow on mountain peaks and a few light rain showers, as well as a mostly cloudy day. That means we’ll be cooler today, with highs of 60 degrees in Knoxville and mid to upper 50s in higher elevations. It will feel colder now, with less sunshine and a northwest wind at 10 to 15 mph with gusts around 20 mph.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with patchy fog. Patchy frost may occur in areas sheltered from the wind. Temperatures will drop to 38 degrees in Knoxville on Wednesday morning, and it can feel colder at times with a breeze. Scattered snow on mountain peaks continues.

The look forward

Wednesday will be colder but mostly sunny. The wind is still blowing, but is gradually calming down again. We will still have a northerly breeze at 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 24 mph. In the Valley we won’t reach a high until 59 degrees.

Areas of frost spread from Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with lows of 35 degrees and clear, calm weather.

Temperatures will warm to the low 60s on Thursday, then drop to the upper 30s overnight.

Friday will be sunny and milder, in the upper 60s, but this weekend will continue to warm into the low to mid 70s in the afternoons!

In your First Alert 8-Day Planner, the dry trend and warming to the mid-70s continues into next week. Beyond the 8-day forecast, we expect another weak cold front that will bring some light showers.
