Angry employee learns via text message from her boss on her wedding day that she has been fired: “Absolutely furious”

An angry employee has recounted the cruel moment she received a text message saying she was being fired on her wedding day.

The British bride said she received the shocking WhatsApp message from her boss just 30 minutes after walking down the aisle.

“On my wedding day, half an hour after the ceremony, I got a text from my boss telling me I had been fired,” the woman told the Ben Askins Show.

What was supposed to be the happiest day of her life quickly turned into misery when she opened her phone and found the message in question.

“Hey, I hope your wedding went well and you had a great time,” read the text message from her boss.

“I just wanted to inform you that the decision has unfortunately been made to terminate your employment. An email with the details has been sent to your personal email address.

“I’m really sorry it didn’t work out and wish you all the best for the future x.”

Surrounded by family and friends, the bride struggled to suppress her emotions while quickly checking her email.

“I hope your wedding went well and you had a great time. I am writing this email to inform you that your employment will be terminated effective May 20,” the email said.

“Your employment has been terminated because we unfortunately believe that your performance does not meet our expectations for the position.”

The employee stated that she viewed the supervisor’s email as a “cowardly way” of firing her while she was away from work.

“I didn’t want to let it go, but what they did … I was really angry with them,” she said.

“They had the opportunity to do it in person. Everyone was fired in person except me.”

Askins said her case was one of the “worst things” he had ever heard of.

“It was supposed to be one of the best, greatest days ever and that’s exactly what they did to you,” he told the employee.

“You have every right to be absolutely angry with her.”

The employee said she was convinced that a casual conversation that took place just weeks before she left for her wedding may have led to her termination.

She claimed that her boss asked her if she “planned on having children,” to which she “regrettably replied yes.”

Askins’ video was viewed over 600,000 times – many criticized the bride’s boss in particular, calling his behavior “petty” and “inappropriate.”

“This person could have waited a day. This is intentional to ruin your special day. Only narcissists would do something like this,” one said.

Another added: “The fact that she texted her to let her know about the email is so petty. She wanted her to know on her wedding day.”

Meanwhile, some shared their wild stories about how they learned the dreaded news about their jobs.

“I was fired over the phone as I was leaving my mother’s funeral. My absence was ‘an inconvenience for the company,'” one revealed.
