WNBA star Angel Reese has accomplished great things on and off the court and has just started a new project as a podcast host.

“Unapologetically Angel” premiered on Thursday, and many fans took to social media to voice their opinions about the new podcast. In her first episode, the Chicago Sky rookie talked about a number of hot topics.

Angel Reese has joined Shaquille O’Neal’s “The Big Pod Network” with “Unapologetically Angel”

Reese announced her new podcast project last month and the first episode came out two days ago. She said she wanted to do the podcast to be more connected to her fans. Reese is joined by her co-host Maya Reese, who is not related.

“It’s another way for me to connect with my fans and reach new listeners that I wouldn’t necessarily have reached before. I can’t wait to show listeners a different side of the band and take them on that journey,” Reese told Complex.

“With this podcast, I want to create a place for authentic and unfiltered conversations. Whether I’m giving insights into the sport of basketball, the latest trends in the fashion industry or the latest news from the entertainment industry.”

Reese plans to invite many different guests on her show.

“I really want to have guests from all different industries on the show – sports, music, entertainment, business, creatives and more,” she explained. “But you know I’ll definitely have to bring my girls Meg (the Stallion), Latto and Cardi B here.”

Sharing LSU insights…

One topic Reese covered in her first podcast episode was her college years at LSU. She wanted to clear up the hotly debated two-week break she took during her senior year at LSU.

While many speculated that Reese’s extended break from the court had something to do with a poor grade point average, pregnancy or a dispute with her coach Kim Mulkey, the Sky star revealed that she took the break for the sake of her mental health.

Reese explained that after losing the first game of the season to a lower-ranked team, she was accused of being unfocused on social media. In the next game, Reese sat out the second half, saying she and Mulkey “sort of argued about something” so she “respectfully” sat out the second half.

During this time, Reese was also struggling to balance her social media presence with her personal life, so she felt it was best to take some time off and start over.

Angel Reese talked about dating rumors and her love life

During the podcast, rumors emerged that Reese was dating NBA star Kevin Durant.

Her co-host brought up the conversation, which began after Reese was seen sitting courtside next to Durant at a game.

“It was never an issue. I don’t even know how it even became an issue because I was sitting next to somebody,” Reese said. “KD was literally my favorite player since I was a kid and is still my favorite player.”

She also said that KD’s mother supports the WNBA and goes to many games.

Reese also talked about her “love life.” She revealed that her love language is “quality time” and that she usually dates basketball players.

Angel Reese stars in Unrivaled!

In July, it was announced that Reese would be playing in Unrivaled, a 3-on-3 women’s professional basketball league, during the WNBA offseason. She talked a bit about it on her podcast.

“I’m really excited. First of all, I’m coming straight out of college, so I really wanted to know that I don’t have to go overseas and can continue playing in the States,” she said.

“I’m really looking forward to playing with some of the top 30 women in the league.”
