Ana Navarro is frightened by Patti LuPone’s potential witch abilities

Before Patti LuPone played a centuries-old Sicilian witch in Agatha All Along, she knew she could actually be a Sicilian witch. So does the show’s creator, Jac Schaeffer. But “The View” host Ana Navarro was a little spooked by the idea Friday morning.

When LuPone stopped by the ABC talk show in support of her current Broadway show, she was asked what attracted her to the character of Lilia Calderu and her story. The actress noted that she was there from the beginning, especially because Lilia was a fortune-telling witch.

“I think I’m a Sicilian witch because I have prior knowledge. And I’ve had it my whole life,” LuPone explained. “I knew something was going to happen before it happened, and I always wanted to check out the Duke Institute of Parapsychology to really understand what that was, because as you get older it becomes more acute.”

As she remembered the actual call from Marvel, Navarro interrupted her with some concern.

“Okay, now you’re really fucking worried about me,” she said, eliciting a big laugh from LuPone. “I was good with you until then.”

However, LuPone was quick to comfort Navarro, explaining that she believed it was something anyone could do.

“We all have it. It’s about whether we recognize it or not,” she said.

“The View” airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
