The Murray State men’s golf team slipped to ninth place after a third-round 297 on Tuesday at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, North Carolina.

Lennon Albans And Jay Nimmo the racers paced back and forth as they shared 18th place^Th Place in the field of 73 participants. Albans had a score of 66, 75, 74, 215 while Nimmo had a score of 75, 66, 74, 215. Their two 66s marked the worst rounds of the event for the Racers.

The Racers scored two points in the first two days of the event and added 297 points in the final round, dropping them from fourth to ninth place.

Murray State’s next event will kick off the spring portion of the 2024-25 campaign (Feb. 8) when they face Austin Peay in the annual Battle of the Border Match Play. The Racers play in New Orleans (Feb. 24-25), St. Simons Island, Georgia (March 13-15) and the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate Match Play (March 24-25). In April, the Racers will compete in Bloomington, Indiana (April 5-6), Starkville, Mississippi (April 14-15) before facing the Missouri Valley Conference Championship (April 20-22) in Des Moines, Iowa.
