Alabama legend Amari Cooper moved from Cleveland to Buffalo

Legendary Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Amari Cooper was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a third-round draft pick.

Cooper was with the Browns before the 2022 season when he was traded there from the Dallas Cowboys and had two consecutive great seasons with the team. But with Cleveland struggling offensively this year and likely entering a rebuilding phase, they decided to trade away one of their best offensive players in exchange for valuable draft capital.

The biggest winner is probably Cooper himself, going from a 1-5 Browns team with a disastrous quarterback situation to the 4-2 Buffalo Bills, who are considered Super Bowl contenders, led by one of the best quarterbacks in the entire league Josh Allen.

Cooper is in his 10th year in the NFL after the Raiders selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Although he is now on his fourth team, he has consistently been one of the league’s best receivers with seven seasons of 1,000 yards or more.

Tide fans will remember Cooper as one of Alabama’s all-time great players and arguably the best receiver of the Nick Saban era. In three seasons in Tuscaloosa, Cooper rushed for nearly 3,500 yards and 31 touchdowns, both program records that likely would have stood had DeVonta Smith not returned for his senior year, which Cooper did not.

When you turn on your TV on Sundays, look for Cooper wearing a brand new jersey and making big plays for a playoff squad.
