According to the MTA, there will be no No. 2 train service between Manhattan and the Bronx this weekend

As Labor Day weekend approaches, the MTA is informing riders this week about planned service changes across the subway system.

Starting Monday, August 26, nighttime service on the 2 Line between the Third Avenue-149th Street stop in the Bronx and 135th Street in Manhattan will be suspended from 9:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. daily through Friday. Free shuttle buses will be available while the MTA works on track replacements.

Due to track work, trains on the 4 line heading toward New Lots Avenue will also run from the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station to the Crown Heights-Utica Avenue station overnight Monday through Friday, stopping only at Franklin Avenue. Service on the 3 line will be suspended during this time, with trains 2 and 4 stopping on the 3 line.

For anyone looking to get around the city this holiday weekend, the 2 train line between Third Avenue-149th Street in the Bronx and 96th Street in Manhattan will not run from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. However, free shuttle buses will once again be available.

Line 3 will also be suspended over the weekend; trains 2 and 4 will stop in Brooklyn.

Meanwhile, G train service between Bedford-Nostrand Avenue and Church Avenue stations in Brooklyn is expected to resume at 5 a.m. Tuesday after the third phase of repairs is completed during the line’s summer break. The work is designed to improve the G train’s reliability by upgrading signals, switches and tracks.
