ABC’s Kimmel kept quiet about raising funds for the Harris campaign during a friendly interview with Walz

ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel interviewed Democratic vice presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., on Monday night without revealing that he has both supported and led fundraising for the Harris campaign.

The “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host hosted a celebrity-studded fundraiser in June that raised tens of millions of dollars for the then-Biden-Harris campaign, and last month gave his name to a fundraising email for the Harris campaign in which he endorsed Harris for president and denigrated former President Trump.

Viewers would have missed these details in his interview with Walz, in which they discussed the Harris campaign’s vision for America, tempered the vice presidential nominee’s recent gaffes with jokes and criticized the Trump campaign.

The anti-Trump late-night host didn’t mention supporting the Harris-Walz campaign while offering Walz a late-night networking platform to speak to voters.

During the interview, Kimmel called Walz a “really nice man” that the country needs and referred to him as “America’s sweetheart.”

In return, Walz told Kimmel about his campaign’s positive vision for the country, noting that it will “open a new chapter” in the Trump era.

“For me, and being an eternal optimist, I always say that. I ran a high school cafeteria – you’re either an optimist or you’re dead,” he said, adding: “This idea that looks like we can turn it around.” Page above, and I plan to do so on November 6th to wake up with Madam President.

Kimmel mocked Walz’s last line, saying, “I want to be clear, you’re not going to wake up together.” “No,” Walz replied, laughing as the host fired back, “unless you’re closer than we are.” thought.”

“I have a problem with not expressing my language accurately. Thank you very much for that, that’s right,” Walz responded, referring to the fact that he was criticized for inaccurate claims about his career, which he described as “misstated.” “

That Kimmel did a softball interview with Walz is no surprise, considering how much the comedian has supported the Democratic presidential nomination.

Harris at the campaign rally

In a joint September email from Kimmel and the Harris campaign, recently obtained by Fox News Digital, the anchor stated: “I’m sorry to break your cold little heart, Donald, but I support Kamala Harris for president . I had the privilege of interviewing our Vice President several times and is a kind, brilliant and delightful person who cares deeply about our country.

The email included links for recipients to send money to the Harris-Walz campaign and added another message from Kimmel. “I want my four children to know that I am on the right side of history (that is the left side). We must protect our children from the self-serving trolls who pretend to fight for ‘freedom.'” I believe that truth, justice and all that we have learned from Superman Kamala Harris and Tim Walz is our greatest hope in this battle for reason.

Kimmel also hosted a fundraiser for the Biden-Harris campaign in June, which included celebrity guests George Clooney, Julia Roberts and others as well as former President Barack Obama, raising over $30 million for the Democratic ticket.

Kimmel’s ABC network has also come under scrutiny for its ties to the Harris-Walz campaign, as Dana Walden, a senior Disney executive whose portfolio includes ABC News, is one of Vice President Kamala Harris’ “extraordinary girlfriends,” according to a report York Times. Walden and Harris have known each other since 1994, while their husbands Matt Walden and Doug Emhoff have known each other since the 1980s.

The executive branch donated with dozens of Democrats and has been involved in Harris’ political campaigns since at least 2003, when she ran for district attorney in San Francisco. She subsequently donated to her subsequent campaigns for California attorney general and U.S. Senate, as well as her bid for the White House in 2020. Harris even wrote to the Waldens at an April 2022 fundraiser held at their home in Los Angeles Honor for her marriage.
