A company press release states that the defect can cause unusual steering noise, increased steering effort and difficulty, or a “sticky” feeling in the steering. It warns that the defect “could lead to an increased risk of accident or injury.”

The affected vehicles are the 2022-2025 Honda Civic Sedan, the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Sedan, the 2022-2025 Honda Civic Hatchback, the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Hatchback, the 2023-2025 Honda Civic Type R, the Honda CR -V 2023-2025 and the 2023-2025 Honda CR-V 2023-2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid, 2025 Honda CR-V Fuel Cell, 2023-2025 Honda HR-V, 2023-2025 and the Acura Integra and 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S.

“American Honda is announcing this recall to encourage owners of affected vehicles to take them to an authorized dealer for repairs as soon as they receive notification,” the release said.

The company says mailed notifications of the recall will begin in November. Motorists can also find out if their vehicles are affected by visiting www.recalls.honda.com, www.recalls.acura.com or by calling 888-234-2138. Repairs to affected vehicles will be carried out free of charge.
