A season-by-season breakdown of Dana Holgorsen’s offense

Earlier this week, the Nebraska Cornhuskers hired former head coach Dana Holgorsen as an offensive consultant. Holgorsen joins the Huskers after previously serving as head coach with the West Virginia Mountaineers and Houston Cougars.

Holgorsen is known for his aerial attack offense. The Air Raid is a spread, non-huddle offense that relies heavily on the passing game. The hope is that his track record will have an immediate impact on the Huskers.

Nebraska’s offense has struggled all season. They rank 99th in total offense with an average of 354.1 yards per game. With a meager 23.6 points per game, the Huskers also rank 100th in offense.

This isn’t the first time the Huskers have spoken to Holgorsen. Last offseason, he held talks with Matt Rhule about a move to the coaching staff, but no agreement was reached.

Scroll below for a year-by-year breakdown of Dana Holgorsen’s offenses, starting in 2007 with his first season as offensive coordinator at Texas Tech.
