It is obvious that people with disabilities are not inferior to people without disabilities.

In today’s story, a teacher repeatedly makes anti-disabled comments to another disabled teacher and the disabled teacher decides to take revenge.

But things didn’t quite go according to plan.

Let’s see how the story continues…

I work in a preschool kindergarten and look after 3- to 5-year-olds.

I am also disabled and therefore sometimes use a walking stick or various splints.

She began working with a teacher who was rude and disrespectful to her.

At the beginning of the summer semester, I spent two weeks working with a teacher I had never worked with before but who I knew was difficult.

When I told her I couldn’t bend over to clean tables, she said, “I’ve never worked with an injured person before.”

From then on things went downhill.

They decided to get a little revenge.

I’m not a petty person, but two weeks of anti-disability comments make anyone angry.

While she was leaving her room for a conference, I made my petty move.

We had wooden blocks in every classroom, and in every room except hers, the shelves had labels showing the children where to put the different shaped blocks.

Instead of using labels, she simply blamed the children for doing something wrong.

She lied when the teacher saw the labels.

I put labels on the shelves because I knew she would be mad that someone had rummaged around in her room.

I did it on a Friday.

On Monday I came over and lied when she asked me if I knew who did it.

It didn’t work out as they expected.

On Tuesday, I learned that she thought it was the biggest surprise ever and had cornered my colleague and made him spill the beans.

On Wednesday I received a thank you gift for “all the hard work I do.”

Today I think that I am not cut out for petty revenge and next time I will just have to be aggressive and hit her with my stick.

While it’s unlikely, perhaps instead of seeking revenge, these teachers could try to be friends.

Revenge doesn’t always work out the way you want it to, but sometimes it’s even better!

At least for one party.
