KC Chiefs announce TV and radio crew and broadcast details for 2024 games

On Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs officially announced their television and radio broadcast teams for the 2024 season. Three preseason games will be broadcast by the Chiefs’ in-house television network and the radio team will cover the entire season. Here’s everything you need to know.

The Chiefs’ preseason telecasts will continue with the same crew as in years past: live commentator Ari Wolfe enters his fifth season, former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green provides co-commentary in his 14th season, and sideline reporters Kimmi Chex and Matt McMullen return for their third and fourth seasons, respectively.

The first and third preseason games will be broadcast locally on 38 The Spot (KCMI), the second game on KSHB 41.

On radio, the Chiefs announced in their statement that “the Chiefs Radio Network crew, which originally debuted in the 2020 season, will return for the fifth consecutive season in 2024.” This includes “Voice of the Chiefs” Mitch Holthus, who returns for his 31st season as the team’s live radio commentator, alongside former Chief Danan Hughes as co-commentator in his fifth season. Josh Klingler will continue to serve as the network’s sideline reporter, while Art Hains will host pre- and post-game coverage along with executive producer Dan Israel. Hains suffered a serious health scare in 2022 when he was diagnosed with West Nile virus. The Chiefs radio station will change again in 2024: On August 15, Alt 96.5 FM will be renamed 96.5 The Fan.

“The club’s first preseason game on Saturday, August 10 in Jacksonville will air on 106.5 The Wolf before 96.5 The Fan (KFNZ-FM) goes live on Thursday, August 15 and serves as the Chiefs’ home for the remainder of the 2024 preseason, regular season and postseason,” the press release said.

Tico Sports will produce Spanish-language broadcasts of the Chiefs’ preseason, regular season and postseason games with Oscar Monterroso, Hannah Bassham, Adan Manzano and CiCi Rojas.
