Fake heiress Anna Delvey says winning ‘DWTS’ would mean ‘nothing’ to her

Anna Delvey doesn’t care if she wins or loses “Dancing With the Stars.”

The 33-year-old fake heiress – who will dance with her pro partner Ezra Sosa and her court-ordered ankle bracelet – made the shocking claim after the season 33 cast was announced on Wednesday.

When Entertainment Weekly asked the convicted fraudster what winning the disco ball trophy would mean to her, she blurted out, “Nothing really. I don’t know.”

Delvey seemed to want to correct her answer, laughed and clarified: “That would be great.”

While the disgraced celebrity, who was released from prison in 2021 and remains under house arrest, doesn’t seem to care if she wins this season, her partner would love to secure the trophy as he is brand new to the show.

“I’m obsessed with her,” Sosa said of Delvey, adding, “For me, though, it would mean a little more because I love what I do and this show has been my biggest dream.”

Delvey didn’t change her mind and interjected, “I guess I can have the ball, right?”

Sosa confirmed that his partner had no interest in winning the dance competition series, claiming that Delvey “said if she won, she would put it (the mirror ball trophy) in storage.”

He himself told the outlet: “But I would put mine on the mantelpiece. I’ll make sure it gets some sunlight.”

Delvey said she decided to participate in “DWTS” “at the last minute” due to legal restrictions following her release from prison.

“They offered it to me, then I had to get permission from ICE to leave the state, and that took about 10 days,” Delvey said. “I didn’t really know until the last minute if I could do it or not, and then it was kind of too late to say no, so I’m just here.”

Delvey won’t be hiding her anklet this season either.

“I’m going to put rhinestones on her ankle bracelet,” her partner announced. “Sure! It’s Dancing With the Stars! What do you expect?”

The former celebrity also hinted that she already has experience on the dance floor.

“I danced a little bit when I was 4 and 12,” Delvey recalled to EW, “but I haven’t really danced in 20 years.”

In 2019, Delvey was sentenced to four to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of grand theft and embezzlement, among other charges, alleging that she was the daughter of a German oil executive and defrauded institutions of at least $250,000 to finance her lavish lifestyle.

She was released in 2021 for good behavior and her story served as the backdrop for Netflix’s The invention of Anna.

Delvey wasn’t the only surprising star to appear in season 33 of DWTS.

The cast also includes “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Tori Spelling, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks, Julia Roberts’ brother and Emma Roberts’ father Eric Roberts, former NFL player Danny Amendola, NBA star Dwight Howard, recently dumped “Bachelorette” Jenn Tran, Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik and more.

“Dancing With the Stars” premieres September 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+.
