Rain: Heavy rain causes severe flooding in Valia | News from Surat

The highest level of alert has been declared for the city of Bharuch, which is already struggling with flooding.
A house in Mera Faliya in Daheli collapsed, but the three residents, including a child, escaped unharmed. Two cars got stuck in the floodwaters and locals rescued the occupants using a tractor.
The Tokri River, swollen by the rains, washed away the road between Valiya and Mangrol. A truck overturned in Mera village, but the driver and the cleaner were rescued.
The impact of Valiya rains extended to several villages in Hansot taluka including Panjroli, Obha, Asarasa, Ilav and Balota due to flooding of Kim river. As a result, Valiya-Daulatpur, Valiya-Vadi and Valiya-Desad-Sodgam-Gundiya roads were closed for traffic.
The Bharuch district administration deployed drones in Valiya to assist in the evacuation process and monitor the situation for further developments.
