Customers say the SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired Frosty flavor “sounds phenomenal”

Wendy’s fans around the world are really hoping that the rumors of a collaboration with the SpongeBob SquarePants universe are true, especially now that a potential new Frosty flavor has been revealed.

A photo of what appears to be an official announcement from the company that was uploaded to the Reddit community dealing with the Stephen Hillenburg– created cartoon suggests that the alleged limited edition items are genuine and are being released in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary.

A memo to Wendy’s U.S. franchisees and corporate owners explained the company’s exclusivity:Krabby Patty Collaboration” with Paramount is scheduled to launch this fall for customers in the U.S., Canada and Guam as a combo or as a stand-alone item.

The “Krabbit Patty Menu” includes Wendy’s version of the fictional Krabby Patty, a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoes, onions “and a secret Krabby Patty sauce,” a medium serving of French fries, and a “Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty,” supposedly “the first dessert of its kind” made with a Vanilla Frosty base and “topped with pineapple-mango puree” – something that “sounds phenomenal,” according to several Reddit users.

The notice advised employees to use October 8 as the start date for the final Krabby Patty Collaboration with Paramount” and that a comprehensive campaign will be launched in the coming weeks to prepare fans for the limited-time menu in honor of the “cultural phenomenon.”

Neither the fast-food chain nor Paramount have officially released information about the alleged collaboration, but a Wendy’s spokesperson told IndieWire: “While we cannot confirm what is coming up in Wendy’s innovation pipeline, we can say that we are always trying to offer our fans new menu items inspired by their cravings. We will be sure to keep you updated as we have more news to share.”

Paramount did not respond to the outlet’s – or any of its numerous other publications’ – request for comment.
