CONWAY, Arkansas – Due to extreme heat in the Jonesboro area, tomorrow’s women’s soccer game against the Arkansas State Red Wolves has been postponed until 5 p.m. The Bears and Red Wolves will meet for the 14th time.^th-season on Thursday.

The Bears enter the weekend 0-2 after losing to nationally ranked Oklahoma State on Sunday, but Central Arkansas gets plenty of help from its younger players and fields several freshmen against the Cowgirls. Ashlyn Mayfrom Washington and Kaylee Voriseknative of Bentonville, both made their first start for the Bears on Sunday, along with Sophia Backstromwho has been in the starting line-up in both games this season.

Last year’s game against Arkansas State had a fast start, with all four goals coming in the first 33 minutes of the game. After trailing 1-0 in the opening minutes, Kelly Van Gundy equalized in the seventh minute. Megan Moudy scored her first career goal in the 24th.^th Minute and gave the Bears the lead, but the lead did not last long as the Red Wolves equalized in the 33rd minute.^rd.

The Red Wolves have been a very good defensive team so far this season, not allowing a single goal in three games. Arkansas State is 2-0-1 after playing 0-0 with Murray State on Sunday. Offensively, the team has scored five goals in three games, led by Keelyn Peacock’s two goals.
