Israel – Premier Tech welcomes Jan Hirt from 2025

Jan Hirt will join Israel – Premier Tech’s squad from 2025 after signing a two-year contract, starting the next chapter of his career.

The 33-year-old brings a wealth of experience from his ten-year career and will be an asset to IPT’s Grand Tour and stage racing teams, says General Manager Kjell Carlström.

“Jan Hirt is a great addition to Israel – Premier Tech”, says Carlström. “He is the type of rider who works selflessly for his teammates but also takes on a leadership role when given the opportunity. His second place overall in this year’s Tour of Oman and eighth place in the Giro d’Italia are proof of that. We look forward to giving him more opportunities next year when he joins us, especially in the Grand Tours and stage races. Jan will also be a great mentor for the young riders on the team.”

Hirt’s track record includes a stage win and sixth place overall at the Giro d’Italia, as well as a stage and overall win at the 2022 Tour of Oman – two races that clearly suit the Czech rider.

Hirt has driven for several teams throughout his career and is excited to be part of Israel – Premier Tech’s growth in the coming years.

“I see Israel – Premier Tech getting better every year and I believe in the future of the team,” explains Hirt. “I’m really excited to be a part of it for the next two years. I’d like to support the team in difficult stage races where I can use my previous experience. My main goal will be to strengthen the team in the Grand Tours, so I’m looking forward to the next chapter with IPT.”

IPT owner Sylvan Adams is looking forward to seeing Hirt in the team’s colors for the next two seasons.

“I am delighted to welcome Jan Hirt to the IPT,” added Adams. “Jan is a talented and versatile rider who adds depth and experience to our team. Jan will ride classics, one-week stage races and Grand Tours where he can fight for stage wins and high overall placings, as he did in this year’s Giro d’Italia. With a strong rider like Jan, we will certainly be a better team next year.”
