HELENA – In this week’s edition of Out and About: A smoky BBQ contest in East Helena, a car show with some cool classics and a few roaring monster trucks driving around Helena.

2024 East Helena Smoke Show Grilling Contest – East Helena Missouri Brewery – 08/09 and 08/10

It starts on Friday from 5-10 p.m. The 2024 East Helena Smoke Show BBQ competition is back for the second year at Missouri Brewing Company in East Helena and is even better. Teams will prepare their meat on Friday and Saturday, with meat drop-offs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The family-friendly event will feature music, drinks, as well as alcoholic beverages, cigars and great food. On Saturday, the event will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Hot car show in the nights of August – Touch mark – 08/10

At the same time, the Hot August Nights Car Show will be held at Touchmark on Saturday from 4-6 p.m. You can check out some cool classics, enjoy refreshments and a tasty BBQ dinner while listening to live music. We encourage you to donate $10 to the Helena Angel Fund. You can also stay and check out the grounds after the show.

Mega Monster Truck Tour – Lewis and Clark Fairgrounds – 08/10

And to cap off a busy Saturday, the Mega Monster Truck Tour will be held in Helena at the Lewis and Clark Fairgrounds at 6 p.m. There will be monster truck racing and freestyle competitions, BMX stunt riders, local riders jumping against the clock and oval power wheel racing for kids. It’s a fun, family-friendly event with gates opening at 6 p.m. and the event starting at 7 p.m.
