In its fourth consecutive week with more than a billion minutes of viewing, Max’s “House of the Dragon” climbed to number one on the Nielsen household TV streaming charts for the first time with 1.27 billion minutes of viewing for 15 episodes.

This is the second-highest total of any title hosted exclusively on the Max platform, and is 2% below last week’s record-holder fantasy drama series. In fact, seven of the 13 times a Max title has surpassed one billion minutes of watch time in a week can be attributed to “House of the Dragon.”

Special note: Wonder Woman 1984 was released as a “Special Edition” of the rankings and won the week of December 21-27, 2020, before “HBO Max” was officially included in the top 10 rankings.

Prime Video’s anti-superhero original “The Boys” also continued to thrive in episodes. The penultimate episode of season four marked the fifth consecutive week of one billion minutes for the series, spanning 1.053 billion minutes across 31 episodes and an audience that was two-thirds male, with the highest concentration among viewers aged 18-34.

Suits, which streams simultaneously on Netflix and Peacock, reached another one billion minute week with 137 episodes and remained in the top three with 1.07 billion minutes.

Peacock’s decision to produce more episodes of “Love Island” paid off: The reality dating series reached a billion minutes of weekly viewing for the first time with 203 episodes (1.03 billion). This is also the show’s first appearance on the overall charts and fourth on the original list. Half of its audience comes from the core streaming demo of 18-34 years old.

NFL training camp began for most teams in mid-July, and Netflix’s sports-themed original series “Receiver” garnered 559 million minutes of viewing across eight episodes after its July 10 release.

Finally, Netflix’s Stranger Things returned to the original charts with 375 million minutes of viewing for 34 episodes – possibly due to the excitement surrounding the upcoming Season 5. Notably, 18% of viewers were between the ages of 12 and 17, which is unusual as this particular age group never reaches double digits in engagement for any title, according to Nielsen.
