Born into a family of readers, PN developed a love of reading through a sort of herd mentality. This love of reading remained a lifelong passion, leading her to earn a degree in English from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. She usually reads three to four books at a time in the futile Sisyphean task of reducing her ever-growing pile of books of no particular genre.

Pumpkin spice lattes are back, which means fall is theoretically around the corner. I say “theoretically” because I’m still dealing with triple-digit temperatures in my state and it’s pretty much unbearable. I usually like to get out at least once a day, even if it’s just to walk to my mailbox. But this heat has me rethinking even stepping out to the curb. I know a drop in temperature is coming soon; I just wish it would hurry.

Both of the new releases mentioned today are about a wedding, which wasn’t intentional but was fun nonetheless. I decided to use that theme for the recommendations as well, and also recommend a print for you to add to your book room.

One of my frequent daydreams is how I would set up my private office/library. And this print is definitely something I want on one of the walls next to my hopefully many shelves. Prices start at $14.

Weddings are still a constant theme in romance novels, even though we’ve moved on from the idea that a happy ending means marriage and kids. Sometimes the main characters are guests at other people’s weddings, like in the two books I’m recommending today. There’s a dash of fake dating thrown in there too. Enjoy!

However, the evening ends with Kian being Hudson’s escort at an upcoming family wedding. Although Kian is hesitant to keep lying for so long, Hudson promises to help him with his career as a journalist if he keeps up the good work. All too soon, the fake relationship starts to feel real, and both men wonder if they gave up on it too soon.

When Lia’s made-up girlfriend is requested to attend her brother’s wedding in London, she doesn’t know what to do. Her best friend Rosie helps by asking her other best friend Grace, who lives in London, to pretend to be the fake girlfriend. Even though Grace hates weddings, she agrees to help Lia. Although the two women expected some awkward moments over the weekend, they didn’t expect how well they would get on or that they would be tempted to turn the fake relationship into a real one.
