RUSTON – Louisiana Tech’s bowling team has put the finishing touches on the signing of Paulina Avalos, head coach announced Matt Nantais on Thursday.

Avalos comes to Ruston after spending the last two seasons at NAIA power team Savannah College of Art and Design. The Bees won three straight NAIA national championships and placed third at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championship.

“I am very happy to welcome Paulina to our team,” said Nantais. “She has a lot of international experience and will be a great addition to our team. With Paulina we have eight members on the team this year, all of whom could start at any time.”

Avalos is part of the Mexican team and has extensive experience in international competition. She won first place in the women’s doubles category A at the Comisión Nacional de Cultura Física y Deporte Nationals (CONADE) – Mexico’s National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports – in 2024.

At the 2023 CONADE Nationals, she took first place in three events: singles, doubles and team, and at the Turbo Cup, she secured first place in the women’s individual ranking.
