UPDATE (5:03 p.m.) – Authorities said Friday they located and arrested a man accused of being in possession of a firearm near an apartment complex in San Luis Obispo.

Police said no firearm was found in his possession, but the man, Luis Barron, was arrested on another charge.

These included drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of concentrated cannabis.

Police said he was arrested around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Madonna and Los Osos Valley Road.

Luis Barron, 30, was arrested at the Madonna Road Apartments in early July after an hours-long standoff with police.

ORIGINAL: Police are searching for the man believed to be Luis Barron, a former resident of the apartment complex.

On Thursday at 4:30 p.m., a report came in that Barron was walking around the facility with a gun.

Barron was arrested in July on weapons charges.

A reverse 9-1-1 call was issued and residents were ordered to evacuate. Barron could not be located and the order was lifted. Police will continue to patrol the area.
