Martin County Fire Department responded to a serious collision Thursday in which a semi-trailer truck collided with an Amtrak train with over 70 passengers and 14 crew members on board.

Two passengers on the passenger train suffered minor injuries, and no fatalities were reported as of Thursday afternoon.

The two occupants of the truck refused treatment and the flames from the accident did not spread to the train or the tracks, Cory Pippin, spokesman for Martin County Fire Rescue, told TCPalm.

Here’s where and when the Amtrak tractor-trailer accident occurred and how it affects Amtrak arrival times today.

No. Thursday’s collision did not involve a Brightline train, but an Amtrak train that originally departed from Miami.

“Two people suffered minor injuries in an accident involving an Amtrak train and a semi-trailer truck Thursday, according to the Martin County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office,” TCPalm reported Thursday.

“Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Thursday, emergency crews were called to Southwest Warfield Boulevard and Southwest Amaryliss Avenue,” Pippin told TCPalm.

Which Amtrak tickets are affected by the tractor-trailer accident?

The Amtrak train heading north from Miami, where it departed at 8:10 a.m., is now listed as “delayed” on the Amtrak website. Its last stop was West Palm Beach, where the train departed at 9:51 a.m.

No new arrival time was available as of 1:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, August 22. The collision also delayed another train traveling from West Palm Beach to Sebring, Florida.

“Silver Meteor Train 98, which departed Miami (MIA) on August 22, remains idle south of Sebring (SBG) due to an unauthorized vehicle colliding with the train,” Amtrak said in a service update at 11:30 a.m.

“The mechanic crew is en route to inspect the equipment. They are expected to arrive in 2 hours. We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding and will keep you updated as more information becomes available.”

The other train from West Palm is 12 minutes late. As of 1:00 p.m. EDT, it is scheduled to depart at 1:22 p.m. and arrive in Sebring at around 2:45 p.m.
