Her mother called her selfish for not inviting her half-sister to her wedding, but her mother abandoned her to start a new family, so she doesn’t want anything to do with her sister

This year, the 25-year-old woman will marry her 28-year-old fiancé and both are already looking forward to the wedding altar.

When she was 13, her mother left her and her father for another man. When her mother left her, her and her father’s world fell apart.

“But she didn’t just leave,” she explained. “She completely cut ties with us, moved to another city and started a new family.”

“She married her new husband and had a daughter, Lily (now 12 years old). My mother never contacted me again after she left, not even on birthdays or holidays. It was as if she had cut me out of her life.”

“My dad did his best to raise me on his own, but it was hard. I grew up feeling abandoned and hurt, and I struggled with how happy my mom seemed with her ‘new’ family. As I got older, I tried to move on, but I never really forgave her for what she did.”

Three years ago, her mother contacted her out of the blue, admitting that she felt regret for leaving her behind and wanted to reconnect with her.

Her mother told her that she had Lily and expressed a desire for a bond between them as it would be meaningful to her.

She wasn’t rude to her mother when she responded, but she kept her distance. She met Lily a few times over the years and the little girl is sweet, but she doesn’t want to get to know her.

She simply has a huge resentment towards her mother, and it stands in the way of her desire to have something to do with Lily.
