Airbnb will cover the cost of your wedding outfit this year

Airbnb has looked in the mirror and found its counterpart in the fashion industry as a partner to enter the honeymoon market.

£150 off fashion plus £100 off accommodation

The accommodation rental website is offering select customers who have been invited to a wedding abroad this year a discount on both their wedding outfit and future holiday stays. The wedding outfit offer has a difference, however, and is designed to appeal to more environmentally conscious people. There is £150 in credit to spend on By Rotation, a fashion platform that specialises in renting outfits rather than buying them, as well as £100 in Airbnb credit.

“The partnership with By Rotation couldn’t have been more perfect, as their fashion expertise allows wedding guests to rent their dream outfit in a more sustainable and cost-effective way,” she added. “This, combined with Airbnb’s range of unforgettable stays around the world where you can have the place all to yourself, helps make the experience even easier and more affordable for wedding guests,” explains Amanda Cupples, General Manager for the UK and Northern Europe at Airbnb.

53% of wedding guests have problems with the costs

New Airbnb surveys show that a third of Brits will attend three or more weddings this year. But with the average cost per wedding at £661, 53% of guests say they can barely afford so many events while also having to hide their financial worries from the happy couple. The latest promotion aims to ease some of that stress.

The cost of renting clothes from By Rotation, which like Airbnb allows peer-to-peer rentals, ranges from a minimum of £2 to a maximum of £1,380 per day, with a minimum two-day rental required in most cases. A limited number of outfits are also available to purchase, with brands ranging from obscure sizes to high-street names and designer labels such as Chanel and Alexander Macqueen.

Simply book in a top 10 destination to apply

To be eligible for the offer, aspiring fashionistas must book an Airbnb in one of the 10 most popular wedding locations for UK weddings before December 31, 2024. These are the UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, France, North America, Scotland, Greece and the Caribbean. The accommodation should be booked through a dedicated page on the Airbnb website where applicants can fill in the required details to be in with a chance of winning a free By Rotation accommodation as well as an Airbnb voucher. The campaign is only available in the UK.

While they wait to see if they were successful, applicants can browse the AirbnbEdit on the By Rotation app and website. The site has put together a selection of possible wedding outfits to inspire you. But a word of warning before you spend any money: credit is limited and Airbnb says it will “evaluate applications and select the most worthy candidates.”
