Police respond to “gunshots” at Freehold Mall movie theater


QUEENS, NY — Police are searching for two people involved in a broad daylight robbery on Northern Boulevard on Thursday, August 15, 2024. The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. in front of 127-50 Northern Boulevard when a 56-year-old man walking on the sidewalk was approached by two unknown individuals on a black two-wheeler.

According to authorities, the suspects drove slowly toward the victim before one of them violently ripped a gold chain from his neck. The two then fled west on Northern Boulevard toward 127th Place. The victim sustained injuries to his neck but refused medical treatment at the scene.

The first suspect is described as a man of medium build and medium complexion, approximately 6′ tall and approximately 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a navy blue baseball cap, blue shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

The second suspect is described as a man of medium build and medium skin tone, also around 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt, black pants and white and black sneakers.

The New York Police Department is actively investigating the incident and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
