During the filming of the 1994 movie, rising Hollywood star Brandon Lee was killed when a prop revolver used in the production fired an improperly manufactured blank. A similar incident occurred just recently in 2021, when cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was struck and killed by a live round fired from a prop gun owned by actor Alec Baldwin. A bloody Bill Skarsgard commits a massacre in a new look at The Crow

The Crow shares a new image depicting the brutal killing spree of Bill Skarsgård’s title character.

Safety is our top priority,” Sanders explained. “Film sets are very dangerous. There are cars driving fast with cranes on the roof. There are stunt people falling down stairs on high wires. Even walking around the set at night with rain machines and spotlights – you’re working in an industrial environment. So it’s dangerous. You have to be careful about your safety. On the first day in Prague I met with the special effects department and the armorer, who was great. They were very safety conscious. They follow the same guidelines as the military when it comes to weapons, but I didn’t even want to risk The.”

Sanders added: “So I said categorically:We will not have any firearms on setwhich means that we did not have a single weapon that could ever have had a live cartridge or a blank cartridge near it, so that no projectile could penetrate. They are all airsoft weaponsand some of them are just rubber or metal decoys that are functional but have no ignition mechanism.”

“Love is forever”: The “Crow” teaser shows the romance between Eric and Shelly

The latest teaser for “The Crow” highlights the romance between Eric (Bill Skarsgard) and Shelly (FKA Twigs).

The filmmaker went on to explain the benefits of using airsoft guns, pointing out that they still look great visually with moving slides. One problem they present is that more visual effects are required to make the shots appear more realistic. This isn’t cheap, but Sanders said it’s worth every penny as safety should be put above all else.

On the set of “The Crow,” safety came first

“The beauty of airsoft is that you can still move the slide to the rear of a Glock, but then you have to add the cartridge case,” Sanders said. “You have to add muzzle flash and smoke, but that was the price you had to pay.” It took quite a chunk of my very limited visual effects budget, but I think it was worth it. The visual effects in this film were mostly shot in camera. We shot mostly on location and expanded the set. So you have to weigh up what you’re going to spend the money on if you don’t have a huge visual effects budget. But for me This was a very worthwhile investment for the safety and comfort of everyone who got involved in this project..”

Bill Skarsgard leads the cast of the new film as Eric, while FKA Twigs stars as Shelly. Zach Baylin and William Schneider wrote the screenplay. Based on the comic book by James O’Barr, the film tells the story of Eric, who returns from the dead to seek revenge after he and his lover are brutally murdered by gangsters.

The Crow will premiere in theaters on August 23rd.
