Kody Brown was nominated for an American Reality Television Award.

And no, this award is somehow NOT about the largest douche canoe of all time.

Instead, Kody was nominated for the Reality King category at the 11th edition of this rather random evening, a category in which he will compete against the following people:

Big Ed Brown and Tim Malcolm (90 Day Fiancé), Pauly D and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino (Jersey Shore), Johnny Bananas (House of Villains) and Cameron Hardin (Big Brother).

In the final episodes of Sister Wives, Kody acted like a huge jerk and eventually broke up with both Janelle Brown and Meri Brown.

Previously, Christine Brown – who is ironically nominated in the “Reality Queen” category here – had dissolved her spiritual connection with Kody in November 2021.

TLC actually announced Christine’s nomination via its Instagram story this week, featuring the 52-year-old fan favorite in a cast photo, but did not promote Kody.

Interesting, isn’t it?

In total, Sister Wives is in the running for three nominations – one for Most Outstanding Recurring Cast for the show itself and these two for Kody and Christine.

Things have been pretty quiet on the former lately.

He currently has only one wife, Robyn Brown, and it is safe to assume that he is grieving.

In March, his son Gabriel committed suicide by gunshot wound.

Garrison’s mother, Janelle Brown, confirmed the news on Instagram at the time, writing:

“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our wonderful boy, Robert Garrison Brown.

“He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a huge void in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

Kody posted the same statement on his own Instagram page at the time… and both shared personal photos of their son to honor his memory.

As for the awards ceremony in question here?

Producers Kristen Moss and Andrew Ward created the 2012 American Reality Television Awards to “support, examine and redefine the art of reality shows in media by rewarding excellence, encouraging experimentation and recognizing that the audience is the heart of our industry,” according to the official website.

It adds:

The American Reality Television Awards focuses on the spirit of fun and camaraderie that is an integral part of the greatness of this industry.
