David Fynn and Tahirah Sharif’s film “Near Miss” achieves sales and festival contracts

EXCLUSIVE: Amp International has started selling romantic comedies, Near-accidentbefore its festival premiere at the Edmonton International Film Festival in late September.

The script and direction are by advertising director Jamie Rafn. The main roles are played by David Fynn (Am I unreasonable) and Tahirah Sharif (Haunting of Bly Manor). The picture was produced by Josephine Rose (Cinderella) of Bandit Country and Jamie Rafn of Rafn Films.

Timothy Renouf (A very British scandal) and Remy Beasley (Steeltown Murders) also play alongside Fynn and Sharif.

The romantic comedy was filmed in West London and follows Jim, who married the first woman who ever showed him interest. When she leaves him fifteen years later, he is reluctantly thrown back into the dating game as his friends decide to get him to try and try out dating apps. The only problem is that despite all their efforts, he has now fallen in love with the second person who ever showed him interest.

Fynn will next appear in Robert Zemeckis’ highly anticipated Herewith Tom Hanks and Robin Wright in the leading roles. He is currently starring alongside David Morrissey and Aimee Lou Wood in Problems with the father for the BBC and also has the new Harlan Coben Show, Lazarus, The film will be released on Amazon later this year and will star alongside Sam Claflin and Bill Nighy.

Sharif will play her main role in the third season of The Towera role for which she was nominated for a BAFTA. She also recently played in A city called Malice on Sky.

Renouf is currently shooting the newly launched Bergerac Series for UKTV, broadcast in 2025; and Beasley was last seen in Onceand will next appear in the BBC thriller Night sleepernext to Joe Cole.

Rafn’s credits include directing the Budweiser commercial “Flash Fans,” which premiered during the Super Bowl. In 2009, he directed the Johnnie Walker brand film “The Man Who Walked Around the World,” starring Robert Carlyle, which won him the Golden Lion at Cannes.
