Everything about Michaela Coel’s next TV show “First Day On Earth”

We can expect Michaela Coel to return to our television screens very soon.

Four years later I could destroy you took the world by storm, Coel will be producing a ten-part drama series with HBO and the BBC called First day on earthThe show will focus on “another very personal story” that is close to Coel’s heart, Deadline. Coel will not only star in the film and write the screenplay, but will also serve as an executive producer.

Below we explain everything we know about the series so far.


What is the show about?

Accordingly Deadline, First day on earth follows Henri, a novelist played by Coel, who is offered a job on a film set in her parents’ home country.

The full description of the show reads: “Coel plays British novelist Henri, who is stuck. She’s out of work, her relationship isn’t progressing. So when she’s offered a job on a film in Ghana, West Africa – her parents’ homeland, where her estranged father lives – she can’t resist the chance to reconnect with him and the country of her origins. But when she arrives, neither the job nor her father turn out as she expected, and soon Henri must contend with danger and hypocrisy, make new friends, lose her illusions, and develop a new sense of identity – one that may make her stronger, but could also break her.”

In a statement, Coel described the series as “another very personal story for me that I hope will captivate viewers around the world, and I can’t wait for audiences to join Henri on her journey.”

When will the show be released?

Although we don’t have an official release date yet, we know that First day on earth Filming will begin in 2025.
