Attentive Samsung fans spot clues that a ‘cheap’ Galaxy S24 phone is coming – don’t upgrade before you see the new iPhone competitor

MORE clues have emerged suggesting that Samsung may be planning a cheaper version of its flagship Galaxy S24 smartphone.

The South Korean technology giant already let it be known a few weeks ago that such a device was probably on the way when a product list accidentally appeared on its website.

The S24 was launched in January with numerous AI apps

A mid-range version of the Galaxy S24 appeared on the company’s French website before it was mysteriously withdrawn from the market.

But now attentive Samsung fans have discovered another clue.

And all this thanks to a certification for the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE edition.

This is not the first time that Samsung has launched an FE model, and these tend to be significantly cheaper than the flagship versions with slightly lower specifications.

The unearthed certification comes from the Buearu of Indian Standards (BIS) and must be passed by companies before their devices are released into the market.

Fans noticed that the product number used in the BIS filing was the same as the one that appeared in the error on the Samsung website.

There have already been rumors about what kind of upgrades we can expect for this year’s FE.

It is claimed that a larger battery and a brighter screen could be on board.

Leaks also suggest that a lot of AI features could be coming, which Samsung has invested a lot in this year.

Meanwhile, other reports suggest that nothing will change about the camera since last year, which could be disappointing for photography enthusiasts.

Last year’s FE cost £599/$599.99, significantly less than the S23 series, which started at £849/$799.99.

And if you want to compare release dates, the S23 FE launched on October 4 before going on sale on October 26. That means it could be just over a month before there’s official news about a successor if a similar pattern emerges this year.

This all comes amid rumors that Apple is planning its own, cheaper iPhone model with a brand new SE version.

AI across the board

Samsung has introduced brand new foldable devices, the Flip 6 and Fold 6, with a big focus on AI.

As part of the upgrade wave, AI translation features are no longer limited to Samsung’s own apps.

This means users can translate conversations directly from apps like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger without leaving the app – it works in real time and for voice conversations too.

Elsewhere in the AI feature space, the company has introduced some improvements for photography enthusiasts using the Flip in Flex Cam mode, such as an auto zoom to detect the subject and automatically zoom in to capture the best angle.

And AI-powered portraits can transform your photos with fun alternative art styles.

You can also use your finger to roughly sketch an illustration, which the AI will then convert into a real picture or drawing.
