Her best friend’s wedding date was postponed at the last minute to the same weekend as her family reunion and she feels guilty for moving the reunion ahead of her friend’s wedding

This young woman and her best friend Sarah have known each other for over 10 years now and in a few weeks Sarah will tie the knot.

Because of this, she was naturally excited to attend her friend’s wedding, but she was even happier when she was asked to be a bridesmaid.

But a few weeks ago, the entire wedding planning was turned upside down. Sarah called her and told her everything – because apparently there had been a mix-up with the venue. So Sarah’s wedding date was actually changed at the last minute.

Unfortunately, her friend’s new wedding date happened to fall on the same weekend as her family reunion, which she had been planning for some time and which she absolutely couldn’t miss.

“Because it’s a special occasion for my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary,” she said.

She tried to explain it to Sarah as well, and at first it seemed like her friend understood. Then later that day, Sarah texted her explaining how stressful the change of plans was and accusing her of not making an effort to make it to the new appointment.

“I suggested that I could only come to the reception if she could arrange another schedule,” she recalls.

Sarah, however, refused to compromise and claimed the wedding would be an all-day affair. Her friend also said it was important that she was there the whole time.

This has put her in a really difficult situation. Of course she wants to support Sarah.
