Well, it looks like Amazon Prime Video is the next in a long line of streaming services to cancel a popular series.

Despite the positive reviews and internet hype surrounding one of his latest shows, Amazon cancels a series after only one season.

Amazon has cancelled My Lady Janeaccording to The Hollywood Reporter. The eight-part series was a historical drama with fantasy elements and can be streamed exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. This cancellation came after the series ran for only one season.

The trailer promises “an epic story of true love, great adventure, devious intrigue and daring sword fights.” The story follows Jane Grey (a human) who develops an affection for the “oppressed shapeshifters.”

My Lady Jane is based on a novel by Cynthia Hand. The series stars Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows and is set in 16th century England.

If you haven’t read the book yet, we recommend checking it out before watching the series! The novel has an average of 4.02 stars on Goodreads and the series has an impressive score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Although the series gained popularity on social media, My Lady Jane was not listed on Nielsen’s top 10 streaming charts following its release on June 27.
