I watched the Alien movies for the first time and didn’t think James Cameron’s Aliens could live up to the first one. I was wrong for 4 major reasons

I know, I know, I might as well have spent my whole life in cryogenic sleep because I had no idea about James Cameron’s Aliens would be as good as it is. The 1986 film is at the top of our list for the best horror movies any times And The best science fiction movies ever done, but it still took my anticipation for the publication of Alien: Romulus to finally press play. Sure, I had seen the original Foreigner Film years ago, but recently I finally made my way through The Foreigner Movie timelineand I need to share my thoughts on the first sequel to the franchise.

So here’s the thing: Hollywood doesn’t have the best track record with sequels. In my opinion, it’s incredibly rare that the second film of a blockbuster is worth watching, especially in the 80s. There’s the rewatchability of the iconic Back to the Future II and the star Wars Films or the way Terminator 2: Judgment Day transforms Sarah Connor to think, but then there are films like Jaws 2 or Halloween II that really couldn’t live up to their iconic first films. I didn’t think Aliens could possibly be as good as the first one, but I’m glad that assumption was wrong.
