This US-based couple returned to their favorite hotel in Istanbul for their wedding

Although 400 guests from all over the world came to Turkey to celebrate the couple’s wedding, the duo still wanted to create a very intimate atmosphere. “We wanted to create a bespoke experience in stunning locations. We not only wanted everything to be opulent, but also full of personal touches,” explains the Chicago-raised bride, who works as a consultant at Accenture. Culinary experiences and interactive entertainment were the focus. To achieve the latter, they hired artists such as Sukhbir, DJ AJ Wavy and Turkish whirling dervishes.

“We love the mix of East and West in the heart of Istanbul. It’s a beautiful city with a rich history that appeals to us,” says the bride. After visiting the city several times, they carefully selected three hotels to host their various events. The sangeet took place at the Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, their favorite hotel in Istanbul. For the wedding, they chose Raffles Istanbul because they consider it a “second home.” “Whenever we travel to the Middle East, we stop in Istanbul and stay here,” they add. The valima (reception) took place at the Ottoman-era hotel Çiragan Palace Kempinski, which the couple considers one of the most exclusive wedding settings in the world.

The couple wore a mix of Indian, Pakistani and international brands. The groom wore Arjan Dugal and Sabyasachi for the sangeet and Tom Ford and Canali for the reception. All of Motan’s bridal looks were by Pakistani designers – Sana Safinaz and Elan for the sangeet and Faraz Manan for the reception. Both said “I do” in Shehla Chatoor for the nikaah.
