EDMONTON – Connor McDavid is the new “serious captain.”

While this nickname has applied to other hockey captains in the past, McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers has become the poster child for the term, with observers often citing his lack of emotion during post- and pre-game interviews as the main reason for their views.

In recent days, photos and videos from the McDavids’ wedding have been released, many of which show McDavid “letting it all off,” so to speak.

The first video (originally posted by the band Loud Luxury, who played at the wedding) shows McDavid and several others dancing behind the band, most of whom have their shirts unbuttoned, and former Oiler Ryan McLeod is dancing shirtless.

In this clip, McDavid can be seen nodding and bobbing his head, and seems to be having a lot of fun.

There are also several Instagram stories that show McDavid loosening up, but he seems to be having the most fun at another point during the wedding celebration.

That’s right, McDavid is riding on Zach Hyman’s shoulders and having a blast doing it. McDavid is a highly focused person, but there’s only one thing that’s important to him here: having fun.

For someone who seems so serious all the time, it’s great that he’s having fun. Considering this was his wedding, it shouldn’t be surprising to see him like this.

McDavid has shown that he knows how to have fun. Let’s hope the “not fun” label disappears after this.
