The short video contains a grim warning. A narrator explains that some places in our world are not meant for humans to visit, and suggests that the titular forest may hold dark secrets. Coincidentally, none of the main characters of the upcoming adventure appear in the video.

The premise of Wildwood follows Prue McKeel (Peyton Elizabeth Lee), a girl who, together with her best friend Curtis, must delve deep into the eponymous forest (Jacob Tremblay). This is no picnic for the young protagonists of the cartoon. The reason the children have to go into the forest is because Prue’s little brother has been kidnapped by a mysterious woman named Alexandra (Carey Mulligan). No one will be safe from the darkness of the forest in WildwoodLaika’s first film since the release of Missing link.

Wildwood Directed by Travis KnightThe filmmaker celebrates his triumphant return to Laika after working on titles such as Missing link And Kubo – The Brave Samurai.
