Realme sets a new record with its 320W SuperSonic technology that can fully charge your phone in just over 4 minutes

When it comes to fast charging technologies, Realme is no newbie. Recently, at an event held at the company’s Chinese headquarters in Shenzhen, the company unveiled innovations that will make their way into smartphones. Among the many features demoed, the phone’s touch-sensitive panel was added to support both swiping and tapping, and the AirGap voltage transformer was added to maintain power efficiency and protect the phone from damage in case of electrical interference. The highlight of the major announcements, however, was the new SuperSonic Charge technology that delivers incredible charging speed.

Realme is once again leading the way with its new fast charging system that allows you to fully charge your phone in less than 5 minutes

Realme has been leading the mobile industry when it comes to charging speeds for some time now, and now it’s here to take the tech industry by storm with its latest innovation, the 320W SuperSonic Charge technology. Xiaomi introduced its 300W technology in 2023 that can charge a device in 4 minutes and 55 seconds, to be precise. After achieving the remarkable charging speed, no manufacturer could match the same, but Realme changed that on Wednesday while demonstrating its new technology at the Fanfest event in Shenzhen, China.

With the new record-breaking fast charging technology, your smartphone’s battery can be charged to 26 percent in 1 minute, 50 percent in 2 minutes, and fully charged in exactly 4 minutes and 30 seconds (as demonstrated with a 4,420mAh battery). This incredible charging speed is made possible by multi-cell batteries that can reduce charging time by performing the task simultaneously, unlike other batteries that rely on single-cell batteries. The company was able to achieve this remarkable charging speed with its new ultra-thin quad-cell battery design that folds in half.

Realme was also able to boost the 240W charger introduced last year to a whopping 320W, and the power jump was achieved without any changes in size. Pocket Cannon is the upgrade that offers two USB ports to expand the 150W support for phones and 65W support for laptops. To solve power loss issues when charging with SuperVOOC, Realme has introduced a new AirGap voltage transformer that keeps the battery and the transformer physically separated.

We have limited information on which devices will feature the new technology and when the new SuperSonic Charge feature will be fully ready for rollout, but the company could surprise us again by introducing it at its product launch next year.
