Colonialists kill one Palestinian and seriously injure another near Qalqilia |


On Thursday, illegal Israeli colonialists killed a young Palestinian man, seriously injured another, and burned down houses and vehicles belonging to Palestinians in the village of Jit, east of Qalqilia in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the seriously injured young man was Rashid Mahmoud Abdel Qader SeddahThe 23-year-old was pronounced dead at Rafidia Hospital in Nablus after an illegal settler shot him in the chest with live ammunition.

According to media sources, a group of armed Israeli colonialists entered the village and opened fire on Palestinian citizens with live ammunition. Two citizens were shot dead, Seddah was killed and another was seriously injured.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRCS), ambulance crews also attended to a citizen who suffered gunshot wounds to the head and leg; he was taken to hospital.

PRCS added that a young man suffered a head injury after being pelted with stones by settlers and an elderly woman was injured by inhaling tear gas. They were treated at the scene.

According to Morad Eshteiwi, director of the Commission for Resistance to the Wall and Settlement Construction in Qalqilia, Israeli forces entered the village and offered protection to the attacking colonists.

Eshteiwi added that the colonialists set fire to four Palestinian-owned houses and six vehicles, while the soldiers opened fire with live ammunition, tear gas canisters and stun grenades.

Arab 48 quoted an Israeli security source as saying that 100 settlers stormed the village of Jit and burned down four houses and six vehicles belonging to residents.

According to media sources, they blocked the access to the village, preventing civil defense from fighting the fires, allowing them to continue to rage.

Arab 48 also reported that the settlers threw Molotov cocktails and stones at Palestinian citizens, adding that several Palestinian citizens suffered the toxic effects of inhaled tear gas.

A similar message says that a group of illegal colonists set fire to a large piece of farmland in the village of Ramin, east of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank.

According to media sources, the fires burned dozens of olive and fig trees belonging to Palestinian citizens in the area.

Sources added that the colonists attacked the civil defence teams when they tried to approach the area to put out the fires, hitting them with sticks and throwing stones.
