Retro streaming service coming soon to PlayStation consoles

Regardless of whether this can be considered the retro gaming equivalent of Microsoft’s Game Pass or not, PlayStation gamers can look forward to this retro game streaming service soon.

The retro game streaming service is Antstream Arcade. The service already contains a library of over 1300 retro games from SNES, Amiga and Commadore 64 to SNES, Mega Drive and even arcade games (via VGC). It goes without saying that Antstream contains games from many more retro consoles. The official Antstream website offers worldwide tournaments and gaming challenges among other things, making it more than just game streaming to your device.

CEO Steve Cottam inadvertently announced during an Antstream Connect livestream that the service is now available on PS4 and PS5. While these plans to bring the service to the current and final generation of PlayStation consoles are still on track, the official release date will be announced at a later date (as reported by PSLF). Currently, the retro streaming service is already available on Xbox and PC, as well as iOS/Android, Mac, and even Samsung TVs. However, there is no mention of the service coming to Nintendo Switch.

In addition to a $39.99/year subscription option, players also have lifetime access to Antstream for a one-time payment of $99.99. However, Push Square notes that this one-time payment is only a limited-time offer.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to streaming retro games on your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 with the streaming service? Let us know below!
