Boston police search for robber who held a gun to an elderly woman’s head

ROXBURY – Boston police are searching for an armed man who allegedly robbed two elderly women while walking through Roxbury on Sunday evening.

According to a Boston Police report, the robber followed the victims to the intersection of Dudley and Clarence Streets. He then “pulled out a firearm and pointed it at a victim’s head, stealing her necklace,” police said.

The officers arrived at the crime scene at around 8:20 p.m.

Authorities released dark, grainy surveillance images of the suspected robber. Police described him as a Hispanic man of unknown age and between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 4 inches tall. He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up, a black face mask and black pants, according to the police description.

“You can tell he has experience”

Victim Margarida Fildago said she hopes police will make an arrest soon so no one has to go through what she and her cousin went through.

The 71-year-old grandmother was walking back from her niece’s house with her 65-year-old cousin when a man in black pointed a gun at them and demanded their gold necklace.

“The guy put his hands on my shoulders and said, ‘Give me the chain.’ I screamed. He showed me the gun. In Spanish, he said to me, ‘I hope you stop because you’re going to hurt someone,'” Fildago said. “You can tell he has experience by the way he does it to me.”

The necklace belonged to Fildago’s son, who died years ago. Her cousin’s necklace was also stolen. The two ran to a cousin’s house nearby, and her cousin called 911.
